Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, 23 de junio de 2026.\u2014 La presidenta municipal de Puerto Morelos, Blanca Merari Tziu Mu\u00f1oz, reafirm\u00f3 el compromiso de su administraci\u00f3n para mantener las playas p\u00fablicas en las mejores condiciones posibles para el disfrute de las familias portomorelenses y de los miles de visitantes que llegan al destino.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Al referirse a las acciones de atenci\u00f3n al recale de sargazo, la alcaldesa se\u00f1al\u00f3 que, si bien se trata de un fen\u00f3meno natural que afecta a gran parte de las costas del Caribe, Puerto Morelos cuenta con importantes herramientas que permiten reducir significativamente su impacto.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cSabemos que el sargazo es un fen\u00f3meno natural que afecta a gran parte de las costas del Caribe. Sin embargo, en Puerto Morelos contamos con importantes aliados, como nuestros 2.3 kil\u00f3metros de barrera antisargazo y la protecci\u00f3n que brinda nuestro arrecife, que nos ayudan a reducir significativamente su llegada a las playas\u201d, expres\u00f3.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Blanca Merari explic\u00f3 que, de manera coordinada con diversas instancias, se mantienen labores permanentes de monitoreo, contenci\u00f3n y limpieza mediante brigadas especializadas que atienden oportunamente cualquier recale de la macroalga en la zona costera.<\/p>\n

Asimismo, invit\u00f3 a turistas y habitantes a disfrutar de las playas, la riqueza natural, la gastronom\u00eda y la hospitalidad que distinguen a Puerto Morelos.<\/p>\n

Por su parte, Gerardo Rosas Garc\u00eda, secretario de Medio Ambiente, Bienestar Animal y Movilidad sustentable explic\u00f3 que el m\u00fasculo operativo del municipio a trav\u00e9s de Zona Federal Mar\u00edtimo Terrestre (Zofemat) junto con la Secretar\u00eda de Marina han ayudado a que Puerto Morelos salga adelante en esta batalla.<\/p>\n

\u201cContamos 40 de personas de Zona Federal Mar\u00edtimo Terrestre, 2 barredoras, 2 retroexcavadoras, 1 manipulador para darle servicio al sitio de disposici\u00f3n final de la macroalga, as\u00ed como un cami\u00f3n roll off. La SEMAR nos apoya con el buque Natans, 3 embarcaciones pontoneras que limpian la barrera, adem\u00e1s de 52 elementos de Marina que apoyan en el levantamiento de sargazo en las playas\u201d, detall\u00f3.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

En tanto, el director de Zofemat Emmanuel Tuz Betancour indic\u00f3, que en lo que va del a\u00f1o se ha tenido un levantamiento de 4 mil 17 toneladas de sargazo en los meses de enero a mayo de 2026. Enero se tuvo un recale de 542.43 toneladas; febrero 604.17, marzo con 1164.24, abril con 912.28 y mayo con 793.80.<\/p>\n

Destac\u00f3, adem\u00e1s, que estas acciones se fortalecen gracias a la participaci\u00f3n del sector hotelero, cuyos esfuerzos complementan el trabajo municipal para mantener libre de la macroalga la franja costera y preservar la imagen de uno de los principales destinos tur\u00edsticos del Caribe Mexicano.<\/p>\n

Blanca Merari reiter\u00f3 que hay un esfuerzo conjunto de los tres \u00f3rdenes de gobierno con la Secretar\u00eda de Marina y el gobierno de Quintana Roo a trav\u00e9s de SEMA para buscar la manera de aminorar el impacto del sargazo en las playas, y buscando su aprovechamiento a trav\u00e9s del programa de Econom\u00eda Circular.<\/p>\n

Finalmente, dijo que Puerto Morelos refrenda su compromiso con la protecci\u00f3n del medio ambiente, la conservaci\u00f3n de sus playas y el fortalecimiento de la actividad tur\u00edstica, principal motor econ\u00f3mico del municipio.<\/strong><\/p>\n
