Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, 16 de mayo de 2025. En Puerto Morelos trabajamos intensamente en la prevenci\u00f3n de incendios forestales para proteger la vida humana, la biodiversidad, mantener la salud del ecosistema y la calidad del aire, pero tambi\u00e9n para evitar da\u00f1os a la propiedad, manifest\u00f3 la presidenta municipal Blanca Merari Tziu Mu\u00f1oz.<\/strong><\/p>\n

En ese sentido, indic\u00f3 que, por conducto de la Coordinaci\u00f3n de Protecci\u00f3n Civil del municipio, se trabaja en la prevenci\u00f3n de siniestros, pues pueden tener consecuencias devastadoras, como afectar a la fauna y el equilibrio natural, adem\u00e1s de contribuir al cambio clim\u00e1tico. En caso de alg\u00fan siniestro reportarlo al 911.<\/p>\n

A su vez, Irma \u00c1vila M\u00e9ndez, titular de la Coordinaci\u00f3n de Protecci\u00f3n Civil del municipio, detall\u00f3 que, en lo que va de la presente temporada, en Puerto Morelos se han reportado 11 incendios forestales, que afectaron una superficie de 1 mil 076 hect\u00e1reas, entre los que destaca el denominado \u201cLa Selva\u201d, que consumi\u00f3 800 hect\u00e1reas de selva baja.<\/p>\n

La funcionaria se\u00f1al\u00f3 que, como ocurre cada a\u00f1o, la mayor parte de los incendios son causados, voluntaria o involuntariamente, por el hombre, pues con frecuencia se maneja fuego sin las medidas de seguridad necesarias y, al salirse de control, se originan siniestros.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cHemos insistido en que las quemas con fines agr\u00edcolas se realicen en forma controlada para evitar que el fuego se extienda, y en que las fogatas se apaguen por completo con el mismo objetivo; sin embargo, los descuidos siguen ocurriendo\u201d, a\u00f1adi\u00f3.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Asimismo, coment\u00f3 que en la cabecera municipal la Coordinaci\u00f3n cuenta con una brigada de 10 combatientes, contratados mediante convenio con la Comisi\u00f3n Nacional Forestal (Conafor), en tanto que en Leona Vicario hay tres elementos capacitados, quienes act\u00faan como primeros respondientes. Unos y otros disponen de un veh\u00edculo para movilizarse y herramientas para el combate.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cCabe se\u00f1alar que las brigadas reciben machetes, rastrillos, cascos, googles y motosierra; en caso de que el fuego se salga de control, se solicita apoyo a la Conafor, que nos env\u00eda personal y maquinaria\u201d. Explic\u00f3 que el ejido Leona Vicario participa con una brigada de cinco elementos, con equipo y veh\u00edculo, para apoyar las labores de combate.<\/p>\n

Por su parte, Jordi Jalil Chalim Vargas, director de Protecci\u00f3n Civil, detall\u00f3 que el 21 de marzo se report\u00f3 el primer incendio forestal de la temporada, denominado \u201cLas Torres\u201d, que da\u00f1\u00f3 35 hect\u00e1reas; el 31 de marzo, Santa Mar\u00eda, 20 hect\u00e1reas; 10 de abril, La Autopista, 25 hect\u00e1reas; 15 de abril, La Cuchilla, 30 hect\u00e1reas; 17 de abril, San Valent\u00edn y Saca Cosechas, 2 y 40 hect\u00e1reas, respectivamente.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

El 25 de abril se report\u00f3 el incendio Zona de Pozos 20, que consumi\u00f3 15 hect\u00e1reas; 26 abril, Zona de Pozos 36, 17 hect\u00e1reas; 27 de abril, Tren Maya, 2 hect\u00e1reas; 2 de mayo, Ixora, 90 hect\u00e1reas y 7 de mayo, La Selva, que, como ya se indic\u00f3, afect\u00f3 800 hect\u00e1reas.<\/p>\n

Asimismo, puntualiz\u00f3 que del 16 de marzo al 7 de mayo el Cuerpo de Bomberos atendi\u00f3 90 incendios de maleza, que no son considerados forestales porque se registran a pie de carretera o en terrenos dentro de las zonas urbanas de Puerto Morelos y Leona Vicario.<\/strong><\/p>\n
