Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, 30 de noviembre de 2023.\u2014 Al cerrar oficialmente hoy la Temporada de Lluvias y Ciclones Tropicales 2023 para el Oc\u00e9ano Atl\u00e1ntico y Mar Caribe, que abarc\u00f3 del 1 de junio al 30 de noviembre, la Coordinaci\u00f3n Municipal de Protecci\u00f3n Civil de Puerto Morelos report\u00f3 saldo blanco, al no registrarse afectaciones por el impacto de alg\u00fan fen\u00f3meno hidrometeorol\u00f3gico en las costas del municipio.
\nAl respecto, el titular de la dependencia, Guillermo Morales L\u00f3pez, explic\u00f3 que la actividad cicl\u00f3nica estuvo por arriba del pron\u00f3stico, con la formaci\u00f3n de 20 ciclones, de los cuales 12 fueron tormentas tropicales, 4 huracanes en categor\u00edas 1 y 2, y 3 huracanes en categor\u00edas 3, 4 y 5, y la Depresi\u00f3n Tropical n\u00famero 20.<\/p>\n

\u201cDebido al fen\u00f3meno \u2018El Ni\u00f1o\u2019, los ciclones formados en el Atl\u00e1ntico central se desplazaron hacia el norte, lo que favoreci\u00f3 a Puerto Morelos y, en general, a todo Quintana Roo; el hurac\u00e1n \u201cIdalia\u201d, que alcanz\u00f3 la categor\u00eda 4, fue el que m\u00e1s se acerc\u00f3 al Caribe Mexicano\u201d, explic\u00f3.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

De acuerdo con Guillermo Morales, ese fen\u00f3meno hidrometeorol\u00f3gico se convirti\u00f3 en depresi\u00f3n tropical el 26 de agosto de 2023 y se fortaleci\u00f3 hasta convertirse en tormenta tropical un d\u00eda despu\u00e9s, recibiendo el nombre de \u201cIdalia\u201d; atraves\u00f3 el Golfo de M\u00e9xico, donde gan\u00f3 fuerza y alcanz\u00f3 la categor\u00eda 4 de hurac\u00e1n en la escala Saffir-Simpson, con vientos de 215 km\/h.
\nAsimismo, el funcionario municipal, quien dijo que no fue necesario habilitar ninguno de los 23 refugios con los que cont\u00f3 este a\u00f1o el municipio, indic\u00f3 que en esta temporada se registraron lluvias que alcanzaron los 136 mil\u00edmetros durante el mes de septiembre en todo Quintana Roo, las cuales causaron algunos encharcamientos, sin que en el municipio se requiriera la intervenci\u00f3n de los cuerpos de emergencia para auxiliar a la ciudadan\u00eda.<\/p>\n

\u201cS\u00f3lo se trabaj\u00f3 en coordinaci\u00f3n con Servicios P\u00fablicos Municipales para limpiar alcantarillas y pozos pluviales, a fin de que el agua de lluvia fluyera con mayor rapidez\u201d, expuso.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Finalmente, coment\u00f3 que, aun cuando esta temporada arroj\u00f3 saldo blanco, el gobierno de la presidenta municipal Blanca Merari Tziu Mu\u00f1oz no bajar\u00e1 la guardia, por lo que mantendr\u00e1 en alerta a todas las dependencias encargadas de salvaguardar la integridad de las personas, tanto residentes como turistas.
\nDe la misma manera, continuar\u00e1 el fortalecimiento de la cultura de prevenci\u00f3n contra los huracanes, de tal forma que la gente sepa qu\u00e9 hacer antes, durante y despu\u00e9s del paso de un cicl\u00f3n tropical. \u201cEl gobierno local trabaja para estar preparado de manera oportuna para habilitar refugios anticicl\u00f3nicos y difundir los protocolos de evacuaci\u00f3n en caso de ser necesario.<\/p>\n
